Photo Shuffle is useful when you want a small wallpaper collection instead of one fixed photo. Choose images that remain readable behind the clock and icons, and preview the collection before saving.

Create the collection

In Settings, open Wallpaper and select Add New Wallpaper, then Photo Shuffle. Apple describes category or album choices, as well as Select Photos Manually for picking individual images. With manual selection, choose your photos and confirm using the checkmark.

Choose when pictures change

Use the shuffle-frequency control to select On Tap, On Lock, Hourly, or Daily. For manually selected photos, Apple places the frequency options behind the ellipsis control. Tap Add after reviewing the selection. Pick a frequency that matches your goal rather than assuming the collection rotates continuously.

Review the Home Screen too

Set as Wallpaper Pair applies the selection to both screens. Customize Home Screen lets you make a separate Home Screen choice. Check each screen after saving so your app labels and clock remain easy to read.

Make a useful test

Begin with three deliberately different photos. Note your chosen frequency and compare the displayed wallpaper with that choice. Do not judge a Daily selection immediately as if it were On Tap. Keep the original photos available while experimenting, and choose another image if the preview crops out the part you wanted.
