On iOS 27, open Settings > Sounds & Haptics and turn off Match Ringtone Volume under Alarms and Timers. Its slider then sets alarm and timer loudness separately. The same screen has a separate matching control for Alerts and System Sounds.

Before changing anything

Check your iOS version first. This guide follows Apple’s current iOS 27 instructions; older versions can have a different layout. An absent control does not mean your speaker is broken. Keep your existing morning alarm intact while testing a temporary one.

Set a separate alarm level

  1. Open Settings and select Sounds & Haptics.
  2. Find Alarms and Timers.
  3. Turn off Match Ringtone Volume in that section.
  4. Adjust the revealed volume slider to a comfortable level.
Illustrated route to separate alarm volume on iOS 27

These cards explain the settings route; they are not screenshots. Apple lists the ringer’s Change with Buttons option separately. Do not assume moving a music-volume control sets the newly independent alarm level.

Check the result before relying on it

Create a temporary alarm while you are awake, give it an obvious test label, and listen from the place where your phone normally rests. Change one setting at a time and repeat the test. Remove the temporary alarm afterwards so it does not become an unwanted daily reminder.

If the matching switch is missing

Compare your version with the iOS 27 guide linked below. Avoid following a screenshot from another software version by guessing at a similar-looking slider. Note the exact menu you see when asking Apple Support for help.
