What you might miss about Zedge
Zedge's own site lists ringtones, notification sounds, wallpapers, and video wallpapers — a broad shelf, with some content free and some artist content unlocked through credits or advertising. If that breadth is what you valued, check what a replacement actually covers before switching. A ringtone-only site won't replace a video-wallpaper library, and a wallpaper app won't give you notification sounds.

Option 1: Sleek Ringtones, for browsing in your browser
Use Sleek Ringtones when you want to browse categories, preview a sound, and open its download page in a browser — no app install, no account. The site also has separate mobile wallpapers, WhatsApp DP images, and sound effects collections. Handy when you want an audio clip and a matching phone background without treating them as the same file type.
The honest trade-off is selection: a smaller collection might not have the particular clip you found elsewhere. When that happens, search by the sound's *style or category* as well as its name. An instrumental category, for example, gets you further than repeatedly searching an exact song title that isn't in the library. And don't assume two files with similar titles are the same recording — listen.
Our custom name ringtone page is a different job entirely: a short generated message with your name in it. Check the limits shown there before requesting a preview. It's not a way to recreate a missing commercial song, and it's not an unlimited replacement for a ringtone catalogue.
Option 2: Prokerala, another ringtone catalogue
Prokerala's ringtone directory is another place to browse mobile ringtone downloads. Judge the actual item you want, not a headline about how big the collection is. Check its preview, duration, and download format on the item page itself.
One thing to be clear-eyed about: this is a suggestion to explore another catalogue, not an assurance that a specific sound is available or licensed for a separate project. And if you plan to use a clip in a video or redistribute it — personal phone use and publishing rights are separate questions. Read the item's terms rather than treating a free download as permission for everything.
Option 3: make your own iPhone ringtone
For an iPhone, Apple's GarageBand ringtone instructions explain how to import an eligible audio file, trim it, and export a ringtone up to 30 seconds. Protected tracks can't be used this way.
This is the right alternative when you already have audio you can use — a recording, a sound you made, a file you own. It's a poor alternative when what you actually need is a large ready-made library. Creation tool versus catalogue: different jobs.

How to compare sites fairly
Don't compare homepages. Compare one actual download, like this:
- Pick one task: a call ringtone, a message alert, or a wallpaper.
- Preview one candidate at ordinary listening volume or normal screen brightness.
- Check the file type, dimensions, or duration before downloading.
- Read any account, payment, or usage conditions attached to that item.
- Save the original file and try it on your phone before collecting alternatives.
For wallpapers, compare actual dimensions and crop — not an HD label. For notification sounds, listen to the beginning: a long quiet opening makes a poor message alert. For calls, check the sound still makes sense through your phone speaker, not just headphones.

Do I need to install another ringtone app?
Not to browse or download from Sleek's website. Setting a downloaded file is a separate step handled by your device. Android models differ, so use the Android ringtone setup guide if you cannot find the setting.
Will switching sites fix a silent ringtone?

Can I get exactly the same content on every alternative?
